Tom is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Southlake Equity Group, where he leads deal sourcing, value creation planning, portfolio company performance improvement and investor relations.
Tom previously worked at Bain & Co., where he focused on global strategy development and post-merger integration, and The Carlyle Management Group, a turnaround-focused private equity fund that spun out of Carlyle in 2004 as EMG. After accumulating 5 million American Airlines miles, he concluded that there was ample opportunity to create extraordinary companies right in the central United States. Eventually, he gets to the right answer.
Tom served as Chairman of the Board for Southlake’s exited investments, Waples Manufacturing, American Trailer Works, and Titan Spine. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Silica Services and Karavan Trailers.
Tom believes great teams working together always outperform the best solo operators, and he puts that belief to work in his professional and personal life. At home, he is the member of a team of 5 other boys led by his wife of 30 years.
